Known as “the Cosmic Artist,” Enrique Brito’s paintings reveal a universe where a minuscule atom harmonizes with a vast galaxy.  Besides painting, Brito is devoted to sculpture and photography, and is a proficient art educator.  He has participated in various collective and individual exhibition in Mexico and the United States.

As a multidisciplinary artist I create work that responds to the natural world, memory and the body. My themes are inspired by the dynamics of energy flow, vibration and the physics of resonance. My abstract sculptures, drawings, and paintings are derived from chance events and forces found in the natural world. A vortex, a tangle of unruly vines, water carving its own path through rocks  all provide a framework with which to explore process and materiality.

Over 35 years of experience making, playing and researching wind instruments. Experience and credentials in: performances and lectures; ceramic work and exhibitions; the acoustics of musical instruments; original research into prehispanic musical instruments, including published articles; and in teaching a variety of related subjects to all ages.
